John Jantsch is the founder of Duct Tape Marketing and has been called “the Peter Drucker of small business tactics,” he’s the author of numerous books about sales, marketing, and entrepreneurship and his books have been translated into 14 languages. Many of us have read the Duct Tape Marketing book, he also wrote The Referral Engine, SEO for Growth and more. His new book is titled The Self Reliant Entrepreneur

This past weekend, John tweeted this, “Branded tchotchkes don’t further your conversations with prospects, whereas great sales materials do,” and he linked to an article titled The Role of Sales Materials in a Digital World.

Mark Graham, commonsku’s President and Chief Branding Officer, ever-vigilant as he is, saw the tweet, disagreed with John on Twitter, and then invited John to join us today on the skucast to talk about it. John, being a great sport, was gracious and wanted to clarify what he meant as it really was a statement taken slightly out of context, all this led to a great discussion around the efficacy of the product, the 7 phases of the customer’s journey, and the purpose of the intentional entrepreneur.

We love these kinds of conversations that start with a provoking comment and end with perspective and understanding, join us!
