Episode 253: Creating the Shark Tank Experience with Tom Rector, ScreenBroidery

Tom Rector (Founder and CEO) and his team at ScreenBroidery grew over 143% from 2021 to 2022, and along the way, they created a pretty special experience: A Shark Tank Experience bringing together clients and suppliers.

You might be familiar with a traditional industry end-user show but if you’re new to the business, an end-user show is a mini tradeshow event hosted by a distributor. The supplier sets up their booth, and the distributor’s clients are able to walk through the show to get ideas. But Tom decided he wasn’t keen on just doing an end-user show, and he wanted to create something special, so, he flew in his top clients and his best supplier partners and created a Shark Tank Experience that we’ll talk about today. ScreenBroidery was expected to net $450k in sales from this event, post-event they’re currently at $620k and growing.

Today, we talk about this with Tom, plus driving their phenomenal growth, his advice for entrepreneurs during uncertain economic times, and a little something he calls, “Storytelling Land.” Join us!
